IT won't all be about the glossy paintwork, gleaming mag wheels and out-there audio systems when the second annual All Ford Show and Shine Day is held at Doyalson tomorrow.
The day will feature plenty of Christmas fun and the chance to raise money for children with disabilities.More than 300 vintage, classic, show, hot rod, street and custom machines will be displayed in all their glory at the event, which is expected to attract about 2000 people."There will be cars to suit all tastes with participants coming from all over the state, including Tamworth, Coffs Harbour and Goulburn," said organiser Arthur Herdman, a member of the Newcastle chapter of the 1949-1962 Ford V8 Club.About 50 trophies will be awarded in categories such as best muscle car, best classic and best GT."A great feature will be our Christmas picnic," Mr Herdman said. "There will be a jumping castle, puppet show, face painting, train ride and even a visit from Santa. Showbags will be given out to the kids. "We wanted to help out the kids and seeing the enjoyment on their faces last year made it all worthwhile, so we wanted to do it again this year."The event will raise money for Weeroona Association, formerly the Newcastle and District Association for Crippled Children. The show will be held at Koala Park, Doyalson (Munmorah State Power Station).Vehicle registration is $15 for pre-entries or $20 on the day. Public entry is free.
